Help Elwood support local charity events

Elwood is involved in multiple charity campaigns this week!

The first is an interview clothing drive with Philadelphia’s chapter of the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP). Not everyone has access to the clothing that they need to succeed, so C-CAP Philadelphia is organizing a city-wide clothing drive for new or gently used interview clothing. Elwood will have a box outside on weekends for people to donate to the campaign.

Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a national workforce development nonprofit that helps underserved teens pursue jobs in the culinary industry by providing them the tools they need for success. In Philadelphia alone, the organization works with 17 high schools and roughly 1700 students.

We believe that by helping provide students in our local community with the appropriate interview wardrobe, the C-CAP Interview Closet will help give those students the confidence needed to go out into the workforce and make a difference.

Donations Accepted: plain white t-shirts, kitchen pants, non-slip kitchen shoes, side towels, aprons, socks, belts, ties, dress shirts, and business suits. Elwood and C-CAP thank you in advance for your donations!

On Thursday, Elwood and Pom Pom will be donating boxed dinners to Lutheran Settlement House.

And finally, St. Laurentius is having a Spring Auction to raise money for their school. Elwood is offering a special dining experience for two catered to the winning bidder. Here is the link to the bid. The auction ends on May 23.
