Hosenshank pears

An heirloom variety of pears, long thought lost to time, was discovered by chance growing on @greenmeadowfarmpa when william woys weaver visited and recognized it.

I pickled some a year ago and was looking for a way to feature them for awhile. We got to use them for our cider dinner with Ploughman Cider. The tree doesn’t have a big yield and luckily Coddiwomple Canning preserved some from this year’s harvest also. We paired it with our first course-
